  Friend said they're really emphasizing "Family Worship Evening" at the Convention - why did they get rid of the book study then?

  i just had a chat with a friend i haven't seen for a while.

  he knows we're inactive.

  he was trying to encourage us by relating what he heard at the convention, saying "the end is near" and then proceeded to tell me that what stood out the most was how many times the society emphasized "family worship" night at the convention.. it got me thinking, why did they get rid of the book study arrangement in private homes if they're so keen on forcing people to have family worship night?

  Maybe they're moving from macro- to micro-management and downsizing for any number of legal and/or financial reasons. Surely there are plenty of legal reasons to do so.

  it made me wonder....are there any other certificates that could be made?.

  Yay! Good News After Worrying A Lot . . .

  well after waiting months to hear about an important scholarship application that i was turned down for, i got good news about another smaller scholarship that only took a few weeks to process and i got it .

  which is great news, since i've been worried about not having health insurance once i start school full-time in the fall.. i've been really, really worried that i might lose my health insurance due to working only part-time when school starts, but with this additional scholarship, i may be able to free up some other financial aid and may be able to port my current inusrance, (or buy insurance thru the school at student rates).. it is such a relief to have gotten it .

  i have to admitt it, yes it is good to be back home.

  what an ordeal i went through this time around.

  thankfully i was able to get out with out having heart surgery this time around but i will have to be watched closely with regular checkup and echocardiograms.

  my therapist wants to report her concerns about the jw religion

  after telling her my story she could not hide her horror and said she thinks i have a right to sue the watchtower for not reporting amolester in the cong to the police or even disfellowshipping him , so that when i got involved with the religion (and presumed they were all trustworthy) i didnt realise that my child was in danger untill it was to late, someone should have told me directly what he had done in the past , and been forgiven for , does anyone know who she could report her concerns about the poor child protection policy in the relgion to ?

  not the police , because i did that and he did go to prison and is out now .

  she is also concerned about how they deal with domestic violence ..

  If you're referring to a specific pedophile, with a specific record, then your social worker can at least make sure that he is properly reporting to the state, as many states have residency reporting requirements for convicted ones. You can also look it up online.
